Bulan nin mga Gadan

Minsan gusto kong isipon na swerte an magadan.

Padagos lugod satong magdanay an buhay.

Arog kaini
kun pano
pigdadakop
an pagnamit
kan kinaban,

Hinahalian
nin labsay.

Binubugtakan
nin dikit
na askad,
pait,
hamis,
harang.

Uurukagon
an gabos
sa ibabaw
kan pigbuhay
na kalayo.

School Publication

Early this June, I was assigned to be one of the advisers of the would-be school publication of our school. Following the time table set earlier the school publication should be released this October, so I am hoping that the student journalists will have time to write their share for the paper. I hope to release the maiden issue, I hope to be part of the school history.

To add to the pressure, our team was invited to join the local press conference for student journalists, I am excited to join, though not a participant but as a coach. To practice my writers I asked them to write several times, my conclusion after reading their drafts, student journalists nowadays tend to write poetry, short story and feature articles rather than hard news. But sadly the contest is focused on the hard news.

I think I am ready to accompany my students to the press con, no matter what the results will be. Many times when ask for the secret of a good writer, I usually answered, "according to them, they develop skill in writing by a cyle of reading, writing and revising".
